228 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Education if she will provide funding for the provision of a recreation and community centre to serve the school at Deravoy, County Monaghan; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6055/96]

The moneys voted to my Department by the Oireachtas can be used only for the building, furnishing and equipping of national schools.

I am not, therefore, in a position to provide funding for the provision of a recreation and community centre.
