130 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice the guidelines entered into or the discussions, if any, her Department has had with the Irish Bookmakers Association regarding a code of behaviour or compensation fund for the protection of the public against bookmakers who refuse to pay, abscond, or go bankrupt; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I wish to inform the Deputy that neither I nor my Department have been approached by, or have had any discussion with, the Irish Bookmakers Association about a code of behaviour or compensation fund, as referred to by the Deputy.
