251 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he will consider making a freephone service available to the general public who require to make contact with his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6959/96]

At present, an interdepartmental committee, chaired by the Department of Finance, is examining the provision of free call access to Government Departments.

I will consider the issue further on the basis of the recommendations of the interdepartmental committee.
