63 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Justice the proposed changes, if any, which would see some prosecutions of individuals for tax evasion and fraud transferred from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to another agency. [6406/96]
I am at present finalising comprehensive legislative proposals on fraud, but I do not envisage any transfer of prosecutorial functions as part of that reform.
As regards prosecutions for tax offences, I understand that this issue is currently under review by the Minister for Finance, in consultation with the Attorney General.
