Vol. 465 No. 1

Written Answers. - Donegal County Enterprise Board.

Pat the Cope Gallagher

Ceist:

181 Mr. Gallagher (Donegal South-West) asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the additional funding, if any, that will be made available to Donegal County Enterprise Board in order that the board may approve many worthwhile projects and create hundreds of jobs that cannot be created due to lack of funding; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9040/96]

The Government has allocated a sum of £19,736 million to the county enterprise boards for 1996. I am at present examining proposals for the differentiated allocation of this funding as between each county enterprise board. A final decision on the allocation for each board in 1996 will be communicated to it as soon as possible. In the meantime, it would not be appropriate for me to comment on the likely allocation for any particular board.

Pending a final decision on the differentiated allocations, each board has been given a grant approval capacity of £180,000 for the first six months of 1996. The boards have also been given a budget for the first six months of the year of £66,000 for indirect enterprise support activity, "soft supports", and £60,000 for their administrative requirements.
