Vol. 465 No. 6

Written Answers. - EU Peace Fund.

Rory O'Hanlon

Ceist:

218 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Education the funding, if any, that will be made available by her Department under the EU peace initiative fund. [10454/96]

Management and administration of a range of measures under the Special Support Programme for Peace and Reconciliation, including the measures relevant to the education sector — has been allocated to Area Development Management (ADM) Ltd. and the Combat Povety Agency and other designated bodies as set out in the programme. These agencies will jointly administer the measures, primarily through a joint management committee. The allocation to the education sector will depend on the extent to which project promoters apply and are successful in securing funding for education-related projects.

It is a matter for individual organisations to submit their applications for funding for specific projects or range of projects to the management structure designated for the relevant measures within the various sub-programmes. The determination of eligibility of any particular project is not a matter for the Minister for Education.
