Ceist:

Ceist:

223 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice the total cost to the Exchequer in 1995 arising from the engagement, by her and her Department, of public relation companies; if she will give a breakdown of this cost; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10474/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 220 and 223 together.

The additional expenditure on professional fees in respect of services rendered by six consultancy firms hired by my Department since my last answer on 13 December 1995, in relation to prison design works or specific prisons building projects amounted to £271,415. It would not, however be appropriate for me to break these figures down to reveal the cost of each consultancy because of the market sensitive nature of this information. Furthermore, in the interests of security of the prisons, it would not be appropriate for me to identify consultancy firms or individual consultants involved in those prisons works or specific building projects.
