Vol. 465 No. 6
259 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the funding, if any, that will be made available by his Department under the EU peace initiative fund. [10457/96]
The Special EU Support Programme for Peace and Reconciliation envisages the provision of £48 million in EU funding for the first three years (1995-97) of the initiative for the Border counties. Indications are that up to £5 million of that amount may be drawn down directly in respect of community-led tourism related projects. No funding is being channelled through my Department.
Details in relation to the measures and eligible activities can be found in the programme which was, I understand, circulated to all Oireachtas Members shortly after the programme was adopted in July 1995.
