Vol. 465 No. 6

Written Answers. - Ministerial Travel.

Ivor Callely

Ceist:

305 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the total cost of ministerial foreign travel in 1995; if he will give a breakdown of this cost; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10300/96]

I would again refer the Deputy to my earlier reply to him of 26 March 1996 on this matter. Details of the costs of foreign travel made by the Minister of State and I during 1995 are set out in the following schedule.

All trips have been funded from the Department's budget other than where a refund of air fare is recoverable from the EU. The total cost of such trips. which are indicated by an asterisk, takes account of the recoverable air fare. I should add that the total cost of travel in December 1995 has yet to be finalised as hotel bills that are processed through the relevant Irish Embassy have yet to be received for payment in my Department.
