Edward Nealon
Ceist:77 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that recent communications from her Department to the board of management of Our Lady of Mercy primary school, Pearse Road, Sligo, have led to concerns regarding works commencing on a proposed extension and other essential facilities on 30 June 1996; if her attention has further been drawn to the need not to postpone the works as the building, which links two school buildings, was agreed at the time of the amalgamation of the three Mercy primary schools which have a current enrolment of 650 children; if she will give an assurance that the building will proceed in view of the difficulty and inconvenience being experienced as well as a serious risk to the health and safety of staff and children due to constant movement from building to building, often in inclement weather; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
