Each October applications for the post of assistant examiner are sought by my Department through advertising in the newspapers. The applications in each subject area are reviewed with a view to selecting the panel of assistant examiners which is considered most suitable for the subject area in question. In the selection process account is taken of the qualifications and teaching experience of the applicants and of the requirement that the marking of examination work is to be completed with maximum accuracy and efficiency.
