153 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of applicants who have been approved to date under the farm retirement scheme; the total amount of pension paid to date; and the average pension paid to each applicant. [12170/96]

The information requested by the Deputy is as follows: The total number of applicants approved to date, 4,526; total amount of pension paid to date, £49.8 million and average pension paid, £9,360.30 per annum.
