98 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Finance if he will instruct the Office of Public Works to confirm the reason the necessary work was not carried out at the property of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that it was promised more than a year ago. [12541/96]
The channel referred to is a scheduled channel of the Corrib/Mask/Robe drainage scheme. It has its outfall into Cloone Lough. Because of poor ground conditions at the outfall maintenance by machine is possible during summer months only. It was not possible to do this work in summer 1995 because of the extent of commitments elsewhere.
This channel is included in the summer maintenance programme for 1996.
