Vol. 467 No. 4

Written Answers. - Cost of Consultants.

Seán Doherty

Ceist:

55 Mr. Doherty asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the cost of consultants to his Department and to the semi-State bodies under the aegis of his Department in each of the years 1995 and 1996; the names of the consultants employed; and the amount paid to each consultant. [13367/96]

The cost of consultants to my Department in 1995 was £96,600.34. A sum of £6,110.50 was paid to KPMG, £1,550 was paid to Mediawise, £48,400 was paid to Arthur D. Little, £24,079 was paid to Public Relations of Ireland, £11,233.64 was paid to Indecon, and £5,227.20 was paid to Fitzpatricks Associates.

The cost to date in 1996 is £37,709.25 of which £14,520 was paid to Public Relations of Ireland and £23,189.25 was paid to Fitzpatricks Associates.

In the case of Indecon and Fitzpatricks Associates, 75 per cent of the costs are recoupable from the EU.

As to the State sponsored bodies under my aegis, this is an operational matter for the bodies concerned and for which I do not have any function.
