Vol. 467 No. 7

Written Answers. - Castleblayney (Monaghan) Dangerous Drain.

Rory O'Hanlon

Ceist:

140 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment when funding will be provided to close a dangerous drain at Drumillard, Castleblayney, County Monaghan, for which an application has been made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13976/96]

An application for a grant under the small schemes programme for 1995 was received in my Department from Castleblaney Urban District Council in respect of the piping of an existing open drainage channel in Drumillard but it was not possible, in view of the number of other priority projects, to make an allocation in respect of the scheme. No application was received in the current year in respect of the work at Drumillard. The scheme can be considered again if submitted for inclusion in next year's programme.
