303 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Social Welfare the schemes wherein the longest delays occurred in 1995 and to date in 1996 in relation to supplementary welfare allowance appeals. [13978/96]

304 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Social Welfare the longest standing appeals within the social welfare system in relation to supplementary welfare allowance appeals. [13979/96]

It is proposed to take Questions Nos. 303 and 304 together.

The following table shows the position as stated by each health board. The longest delays in appeals in all health boards under the supplementary welfare allowance scheme occurred in the rent and mortgage supplement scheme, with two health boards stating there were also delays in the back to school clothing and footwear scheme.
