Vol. 469 No. 1

Written Answers. - Residential Accommodation for Handicapped Person.

Seamus Brennan

Ceist:

258 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the case of a mildly mentally handicapped person (details supplied) in Dublin 24 who is currently living with his parents and who has been psychologically diagnosed as schizophrenic and dangerous; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that no appropriate residential place has been found for him to date; if he will have arrangements made to have the patient accommodated in view of the urgency of the case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16856/96]

Limerick East): I am sure that the Deputy will appreciate that it would be inappropriate of me to reply in the House to his question at it involves clinical details of an individual. I have, however, obtained a report from the health board in whose functional area the person resides and I will communicate with the Deputy as soon as possible.
