Contract documents for Gort regional water supply scheme are with my Department but, having regard to the existing high level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve them.

There are no proposals with my Department at present regarding remedial works on this privately sourced group water scheme. I understand, however, that the pollution of the groundwater source is currently being investigated by Clare County Council which is also providing advice and technical assistance to the group on measures to improve the quality of the supply.
