47 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will publish the review by the ESRI of the minimum adequate rates recommended by the Commission on Social Welfare as promised in the programme, A Government of Renewal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18550/96]

I intend to publish this report which will be available before the end of the year. I see this report as a very important contribution to the debate on poverty and income related issues and I look forward to receiving it from the ESRI.
