268 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the amount paid by his Department in relation to publicity and public relations in each of the years from 1994 to date in 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19185/96]

All expenditure in respect of publicity and public expenditure is accounted for under subhead A.8 of my Department's Vote. The records of this expenditure for each of the years 1994 to end September 1996 show the following breakdown.

A separate classification for public relations is not maintained. Most of the expenditure is in respect of statutory and public information requirements and as the amount in respect of public relations would be minimal, I consider that the time and cost involved to ascertain that amount would not be justified.
