272 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he will have arrangements made for the construction of a timber processing plant in south Kerry in view of the apparent need for it; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19320/96]
The industrial development agencies have day-to-day responsibility for the promotion of industrial development projects. The location of such projects is a matter for the promoters. I have no function in this regard. Forbairt grant assistance is available for new innovative timber based products, and for developments for export or niche markets. If the Deputy is aware of a promoter who has an interest, he should make known this interest to Forbairt.
