190 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice if she will have arrangements made to expedite the registration of lands for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, in view of the fact that the delay is causing severe financial hardship. [20371/96]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application for conversion of title which was lodged on 20 August 1996. The dealing was originally lodged as an application under section 49, that is acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 but in view of the title claimed, it is being treated as a conversion of title. I understand queries were issued to the lodging solicitors on 26 September 1996 to which replies are awaited. In view of the nature of the case, it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage. However, I can confirm that on receipt of replies to the queries issued, the matter will be expedited by the Land Registry.
