Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment the discussions, if any, which have taken place with him in respect of a proposal to provide a landfill site at Hardbog, Grangemockler, County Tipperary; the response, if any, he has received to any such discussions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A proposal for a landfill facility at Hardbog, Grangemockler is the subject of an application by Tipperary (South Riding) County Council for certification by the Minister for the Environment under Part IX of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 1994. In accordance with these regulations, submissions or observations in relation to the effects on the environment of the proposed development may be made, in writing before 5 December 1996. I have had no discussions with the county council or third parties in this matter.
