Vol. 472 No. 3

Written Answers. - Travel Expenses Claim.

Mary O'Rourke

Ceist:

264 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will reopen and review comprehensively the case of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath who seeks recompense for travelling expenses; if his attention has been drawn to the highly unusual circumstances surrounding this person's transfer; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23001/96]

This officer's case has been examined at several levels in my Department and in the Department of Finance on many occasions since the question of his travel expenses arose in early 1977. On each occasion, it was determined that the regulations were properly applied and that he did not qualify for the travel expenses claimed. From my own examination of the matter I am satisfied that the case was handled correctly. In these circumstances I do not believe that a further review of the issue at this stage would be a fruitful exercise.
