Vol. 472 No. 4

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Robert Molloy

Ceist:

118 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Education if she has received an application for funding under the major sports facilities programme from a firm (details supplied) in County Galway; and if so, whether she will allocate funding in this regard in 1996. [23498/96]

My Department has received an application for funding from the organisation in question. Grants have recently been allocated under the major sports facilities scheme and all available funds are now committed to these projects.

This application will be considered in the event of funds being provided for the scheme in 1997.

Ceist:

119 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in the completion of improvement works at St. Joseph's national school, Kinvara, County Galway. [23504/96]

The original contract for St. Joseph's School is now complete and the extension is occupied. A request for further works to a flat roof at the school was submitted to my Department by the Office of Public Works in October. My Department has approved these works and the contractor and the school authorities have been advised.
