I wish to refer to remarks I made during Deputy Dermot Ahern's speech last Tuesday in the debate on the ministerial nomination of Deputy Dukes. I wish to withdraw totally any adverse imputation inferred by the said remarks. These remarks were unfounded and I unreservedly apologise to Deputy Dermot Ahern and his family for the hurt and anxiety caused. I believe it is only fair that I should do so.
