Ceist:

49 Mr. Bree asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that officials of the Western Health Board refuse to acknowledge or reply to correspondence from Dáil Éireann Deputies; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) of the community care office, Western Health Board, Roscommon, County Roscommon, has neither acknowledged nor replied to a letter of 15 September 1996 from Deputy Bree and that a community care administrator (details supplied) in the Western Health Board, Roscommon, has failed to acknowledge or reply to correspondence of 29 October 1996, from Deputy Bree; if he will intervene in order to ensure that health board officials respond to correspondence from public representatives and the general public; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Limerick East): I have referred the matter raised by the Deputy to the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board. The chief executive officer has indicated that the board will communicate directly with the Deputy in the matter.
