Vol. 472 No. 8

Written Answers. - Culliton Report Review.

Mary O'Rourke

Ceist:

113 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the number of yearly reviews which have taken place within his Department on the Culliton report; the number of such reviews which have been published; the number of recommendations in the Culliton report which have been implemented; the current status within his Department of the Culliton report; if his Department has taken the lead in an overseeing role in the implementation of the recommendations of the Culliton report which affect other Departments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24210/96]

The Government's response to the Industrial Policy Review Group — Culliton — was published in 1993 under the title Employment through Enterprise.

The Department of Enterprise and Employment does monitor the degree to which the various recommendations accepted by the Government have been implemented and the Deputy will appreciate that this is a dynamic process. A detailed progress report was published in May 1994 and my Department is at present finalising the most recent review of implementation to date and it is intended to publish this in the very near future as part of a wider strategy statement on enterprise in Ireland.
