236 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Education if she will introduce a book-lending scheme for students undertaking a vocational training opportunity scheme course in view of the fact that many students do not return books as expected by the schools. [24430/96]
My Department provides funding to the vocational education committees for the provision of books for vocational training opportunities scheme participants. It is a matter for the individual vocational education committees to decide on the most appropriate system for ensuring that participants are provided with the necessary books and materials. I do not propose to change this arrangement.
