Ceist:313 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education when a child (details supplied) in County Mayo will be given one-to-one teaching in view of the fact that his mother has been told the child requires such a service. [1020/97]
Written Answers. - Visiting Teacher Service.
I am aware of the case in question and am most anxious that the needs of this child be addressed.
I have requested a member of my Department's inspectorate to carry out an urgent investigation into the child's special needs, in consultation with the school authorities. I understand that this investigation has already commenced and that the inspector has already visited the school concerned.
I am hopeful that suitable educational arrangements can be made at an early date.
