84 Mr. Gallagher (Donegal South-West) asked the Minister for Finance if he will give a breakdown of the moneys between the private, public and voluntary sectors allocated to date to the Border counties from the European Fund for Peace and Reconciliation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. 85 Mr. Gallagher (Donegal South-West) asked the Minister for Finance his views on whether the European Fund for Peace and Reconciliation will be renewed post-1997 with the assistance of European moneys; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1821/97]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 83, 84 and 85 together.
A measure by measure breakdown of commitments to 31 December 1996 is shown on the following schedule, together with the total committed as of that date.
As the Deputy is aware, funding for a further two years is subject to a Commission review. An independent evaluation of the programme is at present being undertaken and I have every confidence that the progress to date will support the Commission's case in respect of funding for the final two years.
