Vol. 475 No. 5

Written Answers - Schools Building Projects.

Robert Molloy

Ceist:

14 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding the provision of a permanent site for a second level all-Irish school in Galway city; the current position regarding the recognition of such a school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3925/97]

The question of the provision of a site and permanent school building for any school can only be considered when the school has been granted permanent recognition.

A formal application for permanent recognition for the school referred to by the Deputy has been received from City of Galway Vocational Education Committee, under whose aegis the school operates. The application is at present under consideration in my Department. As soon as a decision is reached in the matter my Department will be in touch with the Vocational Education Committee.
