Ceist:79 Mr. B. Ahern asked the Minister for Finance the gross funding received from the EU for the budget years from 1994 to 1996 and the projected receipts for each of the years from 1997 to 1999. [7948/97]

Receipts from the EU budget for the years 1994 to 1996 were as follows: 1994 — £1,841.4 million; 1995 — £2,023.2 million; and 1996 — £2,217.9 million.
Projected receipts for 1997 are £2,331.6 million. It is estimated that receipts for 1998 and 1999 will be of the same order of magnitude as 1997. However, it should be noted that these projections are tentative.
