240 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to correspondence to her Department from a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5, whose son has Down's Syndrome and can be admitted to St. Aidan's Christian Brothers School, Whitehall, Dublin 5, if the school gets an extra resource teacher or classroom assistant; and if she will make a statement on the matter and agree to the request for such a resource. I propose to take Questions Nos. 188, 218 and 240 together.

My Department is in communication with the authorities of the school in relation to the specific needs of the pupil in question. I expect that the matter will be finalised very shortly.

I will notify the Deputies of the position in due course.
