51 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health his views on whether this Government has failed to bring forward legislation to facilitate reorganisation and reform of services in the Eastern Health Board as promised in A Government of Renewal. [11724/97]
Limerick East): On 27 November 1996 I announced that the Government had agreed to my proposals for the establishment of an Eastern Regional Health Authority. I have established a task force to oversee and manage the implementation of my proposals. It will work out the detailed organisational and administrative arrangements which will be required for the transition to the new structures. I have requested the task force to produce an interim report by 30 June 1997.
