Written Answers. - Industrial Schools Files.
In January 1984 my Department took over responsibility for certain former industrial schools from the Department of Education. A small number of files were transferred to the Department of Health at the time. These mainly deal with administrative issues rather than individual cases. However, the vast bulk of the files relating to the detailed administration of the schools by the Department of Education have been retained by that Department.
