Vol. 480 No. 2

Written Answers. - Operational Programme for Transport.

Brendan Daly

Ceist:

249 Mr. Daly asked the Minister for the Environment the current position in relation to the mid-term review of the Operational Programme for Transport, 1994-99, particularly with reference to roads investment; when the review will be completed; the additional scope available for inclusion of projects such as the Ennis ByPass; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14089/97]

In accordance with EU Regulations governing the Structural Funds, the mid-term review of the Operational Programme for Transport, 1994-99 is being undertaken by the monitoring committee for the programme. No decisions regarding changes to the operational programme have been taken pending the conclusion of the mid-term review of the overall Community Support Framework for Ireland 1994-99. The monitoring committee of the Community Support Framework for Ireland 1994-99 is expected to make a decision shortly in respect of cross programme changes within the CSF. The monitoring committee of the Operational Programme for Transport will then meet in the autumn to consider changes to its programme.
