248 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment when he will amend the Planning Regulations, 1994, to require that the provision of halting sites be subject to the same public consultations process as other local authority developments. [14057/97]
The removal of the exemption of halting sites from the public notice provisions of Part X of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 1994 is one of the issues being examined under the review of planning laws which is being undertaken at present, and in the context of legislation to give effect to the Government's policy on the provision of accommodation for travellers.
