Ceist:

58 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise and Employment the functions within her Department which she proposes to delegate to Ministers of State; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13725/97]

The Government has appointed Deputy Michael Smith, and Deputy Tom Kitt, as Ministers of State at my Department.

I am proposing to Government that responsibilities within my Department be delegated to the Ministers of State as follows:

Minister of State, Deputy M. Smith:

Science and technology; Company law; Companies Office; Insurance matters; Registry of Friendly Societies.

Minister of State, Deputy T. Kitt:
Employment rights; Redundancy and insolvency payments; Health and safety; Employment Appeals Tribunal; Social Affairs Council; International Labour Organisation; Consumer affairs; EU multi-lateral trade; Intellectual property.
