74 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the proposals, if any, she has for the upgrading of the rail track between Clonsilla, Dublin 15, and Kilcock, County Kildare, and the development of a new passenger station at Barrow Street; when detailed submissions will be made to the EU for cohesion funding towards the multi-million pound upgrading programme; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The latest position concerning the upgrading of the railway between Kilcock-Maynooth and Dublin is outlined in my reply to Questions Nos. 90 and 91 of 9 July 1997.

Structural Fund assistance has been allocated under the Operational Programme for Transport 1994-99 for a new station at Barrow Street. However, I have no function in the development of the station which is a matter for Iarnród Éireann.
