98 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of persons in County Sligo who had been provided with a home help service on weekends and who have had the weekend service withdrawn by the North Western Health Board in the period since February 1997. [15232/97]
The provision of home help services in County Sligo is the responsibility of the North-Western Health Board. I have been informed by the board that following a review of the circumstances of persons in receipt of home help services, weekend services were withdrawn from six people. However, I am assured by the board that a home help service continues to be provided to these six individuals during the week according to their assessed need for the service.
