108 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs the changes, if any, he has introduced in relation to the issuing of letters of response from him to queries submitted by Members of Dáil Éireann; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16655/97]
Responses to representations made by Members of Dáil Éireann are handled in accordance with established practice which is reviewed on the change of Government. Correspondence from ministerial colleagues, the Ceann Comhairle, Leas-Ceann Comhairle, Deputies of Government parties and a number of Independent Deputies are dealt with by way of ministerial reply. Correspondence from other Deputies are dealt with at the appropriate official level up to and including Secretary-General. The necessary changes were made following the change of Government to reflect the new situation.
