132 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands whether RTE Commercial Enterprises have taken a 20 per cent interest in Tara Television; the cost of the investment; and the name of the company in which the investment was made. [16749/97]
On 3 May 1996 the then Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht conveyed his consent, given with the consent of the then Minister for Finance, to the proposal from RTE that it take a 20 per cent stake in a new cable channel to be known as Tara Television. RTE states that it has taken a 20 per cent stake in Tara Television Limited at a cost of £1.5 million sterling.
