Vol. 482 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

94 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid his 1997 sheep headage. [19264/97]

Given that 1997 is the first year in which the land parcel identification system required by the EU has to be fully operational, all digitising must be completed before 1997 sheep headage can be paid.

In the case of the person named, 15 of his land parcels remain to be digitised.

Every effort is being made to clear the maximum number of area aid applications by the end of this month so that payment can be made in this and other similar cases during the next two to three weeks.

Phil Hogan

Ceist:

95 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if all premia and extensification payments have issued for 1996 in relation to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if this person was paid for every animal submitted for payment in relation to the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19265/97]

The person named submitted two applications for special beef premium in 1996, one for 35 animals under the 22 month scheme in February 1996 and one for six animals under the ten month scheme in December.

On the ten month application, two animals were found to be too old for the ten month premium. Confirmation of this, together with the two unpunched cards issued to the person named on 3 January 1997. Payment issued in respect of the remaining four animals on 30 June 1997.

With regard to the 22 month application all 35 animals were processed and payment has issued in full.

Extensification payment in respect of the four animals under the ten month scheme and the 35 animals under the 22 month scheme issued to the person named on 30 June 1997.
