181 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Finance if he will have arrangements made for an official from the Office of Public Works to call to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in relation to a river which is flooding his land and urgently needs cleaning. [20088/97]
An official from the Office of Public Works visited the area early last week and discussed the matter with the person in question. The river involved, the Lugnagroy, does not form part of the Moy catchment drainage scheme or any other for which the Commissioners of Public Works have responsibility for maintenance. In the circumstances the Commissioners have no proposals to undertake any works in the area.
