106 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid his 1997 headage and premia schemes grants. [21776/97]

Michael Ring

Ceist:

107 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid his 1997 cattle and sheep headage and suckler cow scheme grants. [21777/97]

An area aid application was received from the person concerned but was unsigned. A letter has issued to the person named with a copy of the application requesting a signature. When the signed application is returned, payments will issue to the herdowner.

Gerry Reynolds

Ceist:

108 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim has not received his 1996 suckler cow and cattle headage grants. [21795/97]

The herdowner has not received his payment under the 1996 suckler cow premium and cattle headage schemes because at inspection, some of his animals were deemed ineligible. He has appealed this decision to the headage and premia appeals unit. The herdowner will be notified of the outcome as soon as the appeal is finalised.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

109 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food, further to Parliamentary Question No. 112 of 27 November 1997, if he will have arrangements made to give a more detailed answer and refer particularly to the case of the person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in the question; and if he will outline the current position in relation to payment of his 1997 suckler cow premium. [21796/97]

The person named will be paid his 1997 suckler cow premium grant on 5 December 1997.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

110 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in having a 1995 area aid application processed for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in view of the fact that the error was made by his Department and, in spite of numerous phone calls and letters, no effort was made to have this matter resolved. [21797/97]

The delay by my Department in handling this case was due to a number of oversights arising from pressure of other work in the area concerned.

I very much regret that delay and am arranging for payment of the outstanding extensification premium within the next ten days.
