Ceist:

821 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the current status of a grant application of a club (details supplied) before his Department; if he will look upon this application favourably; and when a decision is likely to be forthcoming. [2010/98]

Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation (Dr. McDaid):

The club applied for a grant of £30,000 in May 1997 under the sports capital programme. No decisions have yet been made on the allocation of funds under the programme in 1998. The application from the club will be considered when grant allocations are being made for the coming year.
