164 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will redraw the electoral area boundaries of Dublin City Council in advance of the local elections now scheduled for 1999; when the new boundaries will be amended; and his views on whether any undue delay in announcing new boundaries would be unfair to both sitting councillors and prospective candidates. I will shortly be establishing a committee or committees under the Local Government Act, 1991, to review local electoral areas, with a view to having the revision completed at the earliest possible date in advance of the next local elections, which will be held in June 1999.
