Ceist:

165 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will confirm the compulsory purchase orders for the construction of the Wyckham by-pass, new Ballinteer Road and the Dundrum by-pass; if it has been drawn to his attention that the recommendations are on his desk for eight months, that traffic congestion in the area is now of critical proportions and that further delay in constructing these roads which are ancillary to the Southern Cross route are untenable; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I will give my decision on the compulsory purchase orders referred to as soon as possible. As my role in determining the orders is of a quasi-judicial nature it would not be appropriate to comment on any aspects of the matter at this stage.
