210 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of prosecutions taken against cre che and pre-school owners who have failed to comply with section 51 of the Child Care Act, 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3342/98]

I wish to advise the Deputy that there have not been any prosecutions to date under the Child Care (Pre-School Services) Regulations, 1996. Some 2,085 providers of pre-school services have notified the health boards under section 51 of the Act.
